Position Purpose

The IT and Network Officer is responsible for managing and maintaining the IT infrastructure and network systems of the organization. This role ensures stable and secure IT operations, supports the implementation of new technology solutions, and assists all staff with IT-related issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Management: Maintain and optimize local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and Internet connectivity. Monitor network performance, ensure system availability and reliability.
  • IT Support: Provide first and second level support for all IT-related issues within the organization. Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems. Maintenance of CGPA website.
  • Security: Implement and monitor security protocols to protect data and IT systems from unauthorized access, modification, or destruction.
  • System Administration: Administer servers, computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, personal digital assistants, smartphones, software deployment, security updates, and patches.
  • Data Management: Oversee backup, storage, and retrieval functions.
  • Project Management: Lead or participate in IT projects from conception to implementation.
  • Documentation: Maintain documentation for network configurations, mapping, processes, and service records.
  • Training: Conduct IT orientation and training for new staff and ongoing training for current staff on IT policies and tools.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA) are preferred.
  • Experience in managing Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and network services (DNS, DHCP).
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity practices and protocols.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
