Govt passes 35 laws from KP Assembly: Arif Yousaf

PESHAWAR: Advisor to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Arif Yousaf has said that Pakistan Tehreek-eInsaf-led government has discussed 114 laws in the provincial assembly in which 35 laws have so far been passed by the legislators. This he said on Monday in a program on the 18th constitutional Amendment and the autonomy of province organized by UNDP and Center for Governance and Public Accountability held here at a local hotel on Tuesday.
Arif Yousaf said that previous government failed to get the due share of the province from the federal government but the PTI government decided move to Supreme Court to get the right for the province, adding that 40 billion rupees were the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa royalty yet to be given by the Federal Government.
He further said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government want to hold local government elections but the Election Commission of Pakistan was delaying it, adding that there was a visible decrease in corruption since PTI had taken over the reigns of the KP government.
On the occasion Senior Vice President of Awami National Party Senator Haji Adeel said that 18th amendment was the big achievement of ANP government to get the right of province.
He further said that National Finance Commission (NFC) approves 27 billion rupees in war against terror for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, adding that PTI government was not utilizing the fund for the province which was getting collapse.
Former Member National Assembly of ANP Bushra Gohar said that the constitution still needs some amendment like shifting of Fata control from President of Parliament. We would have succeeded in this during our term but due to some hidden elements we could not, she added.
Dr. Khadim Hussain said that still in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 2.5 million children were out of school while the linguistic Bill was not passed from the provincial assembly, adding that the government should construct more than two thousand school on emergency basis to accommodate out going school children.
On the occasion PTI MNA Aisha Gulalai, Mr. Kiramtullah Khan PPP, Dr.Ijaz Khan professor IR department, Akhter Hussain Shah UNDP, Mr.Zafar Ullah Khan, Khalid Aziz former chief secretary of KP were spoke on the importance of 18thamendment and its implementation.
