The project focuses on following three objectives:
a) Advocacy Campaign for fully operationalization of KP RTI Law
b) Civil society/media is enabled to use KP RTI law for social accountability and investigative journalism
c) Citizens’ awareness on RTI law improved and are mobilized to use their right to information
The project seeks to achieve these objectives through following deliverables:
- At least 100 information requests filed, and follow up with KP Information Commission if required.
- One detailed training manual on KP RTI law developed
- One brochure and one pamphlet on KP RTI law developed/published
- 90 PIOs, and 60 civil society members trained on KP RTI law
- At least 400 university students are make aware on KP RTI law through 12 awareness sessions in universities/education institutes
- At least 250 civil society members/journalists and other key stakeholders are made aware through through 5 awareness seminars in five divisional headquarters
- A radio spot on KP RTI law developed and aired on FM radios in different districts of KP
Achievements:
- Engage Public bodies through constructive dialogue and received 61% response from public Information Officer (PIO).
- Through awareness sessions/trainings linkages developed with Public bodies, youth, CSOs & media group on divisional level.
- IEC material pertaining Right to Information Law developed and disseminated throughout KP
